Although we’re still in summer, and the temperature was 109° F here today, Universal Studios is gearing up for their big Hallowe'en bash. Auditions had been held at the Globe Theatre in the theme park for singers and dancers to step through the time wrap again and fill the roles of Dr Frank N Furter, Janet Weiss, Brad Majors, Riff Raff and Rocky for the park’s new attraction Rocky Horror Picture Show: A Tribute!

In fact, there are many new attractions this year. Halloween: The Life and Crimes of Michael Myers will be an interactive walk-through experience in a replica of the house of maniacal psychopath Michael Myer, which will bring his most memorable atrocities to life. Also new is a ‘live maze’ experience based on the Saw film franchise, and new ‘scare zones’ that will include a live staging of the 2004 Universal Pictures cult hit Shaun of the Dead,  Welcome to Hell! where the seven deadly sins are punished by stilt walking demons whose torments are punctuated by dramatic fire effects, The Meat Market, where fog will roll across rotting, maggot-infested animals carcasses, and Freakz, where the denizens of an old carnival freak show, who have developed a taste for human flesh, will be looking for you.

There’s even a new tram ride, Terror Tram: Live or Die in which you are asked to leave the tram and wander through Universal’s historic backlot, dodging chainsaw carrying serial killers and monsters who will try to prevent you from returning to the tram and reentering civilization. Sounds like fun!
