Doctor Who had a hugh success, in rating terms at least, over the Christmas Holiday period. After what seemed an age as David Tennant held off the inevitable (to visit friends!) he finally regenerated into Matt Smith in a 70-minute episode The End of Time, Part 2.

After this brief appearance, Matt Smith's Doctor had a minute-long trailer shown in the UK after EastEnders and Doctor Who Confidential. The trailer is available on the BBC website, but it is limited to UK-based viewers only. BBC America does not yet appear to have put it up, but it is available on YouTube.

Today the BBC has released artwork to mark the transition and to tease viewers about the upcoming Doctor. We have also included the already released pictures of Matt Smith's Doctor and companion.
