The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn brings Hergé books to the big screen.
This is a a 3D motion-capture film, similar to the pioneering 2004 The Polar Express. Star Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) is in the lead role and Daniel Craig (Bond) is the villain of the piece.
Notable on the production side for their involment are Steven Spielberg, directing, Steven Moffat, current showrunner of Doctor Who and co-writer of the BBCtv series Sherlock, is the main writer of this script and Peter Jackson of Lord of the Rings fame is one of the producers.
The Adventures of Tintin is planned as the first in a trilogy, and is due for a Christmas 2011 release.
