On the popular series Pretty Little Liars, Lucy Hale plays Aria Montgomery, the artsy chameleon who is interested in English – and her English teacher, Ezra Fitz.
The series of Pretty Little Liars follow four estranged friends, Aria, Emily (Shay Mitchell), Hanna (Amber Benson) and Spencer (Troian Bellisario), who are brought together when a member of their group, Alison, mysteriously disappears. They then begin to received strange messages from an anonymous person, only identifying them self as ‘A.’
We spoke with Lucy at ABC’s press day, and attempted to get her to spill the beans about the new season of Pretty Little Liars, which began on June 14th.
What can you tell us about Pretty Little Liars Season Two?
I’ll share what I can. We pick up where we left off in the finale, where we’re trying to track down Ian’s body and we don’t know if he’s really dead, if he’s ‘A,’ did he kill Alison? If he’s not, who is ‘A.’ Did ‘A’ kill Ian? All these different questions.
As far as Aria’s storyline, she’s still with Mr Fitz and he’s no longer a teacher at the school. He’s teaching at a college now, so they can legally date in Pennsylvania.
They actually went and figured it out that it was legal in Pennsylvania, as she’s 16 or 17, dating an older man. But there’s a love triangle, there’s someone else that catches Aria’s eye, who’s more age appropriate.
She’s also dealing with her brother. What we’re filming now is Aria’s little brother is rebelling a lot in a major way, and that’s another thing to add to the whole mixture of her crazy life.
Would you like to see her have a new love interest?
It’s very interesting. Yes, the two guys are completely different, they couldn’t be more opposite. I don’t know which guy she’s going to choose.
How would you like to see Aria develop this season of Pretty Little Liars?
In season two they are focusing on her lighter side. Sometimes Aria is very sarcastic and they are giving her more lines like that.
I just want to see the girls go do something fun without ‘A’, drama free; an episode where nothing goes wrong. I know that’s why the show is so successful is because everything goes wrong, but I just want to see them travel.
There is talk of maybe New York for the third season of Pretty Little Liars, maybe an episode, but whether that happens, I don’t know. That would be fun.
