The movie chronicled the beginnings of the newly commissioned USS Enterprise, and its crew, James T Kirk (Chris Pine), Commander Spock (Zachary Quinto ), Nyota Uhura (Zoe Saldana), Pavel Chekov (Anton Yelchin), Scotty (Simon Pegg), Doctor Leonard McCoy (Karl Urban) and Hikaru Sulu (John Cho). The movie was written and produced by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.

Kurtzman has taken on the challenging ‘role’ of director with his new movie, the family drama People Like Us, which he wrote with his partner of 20 years, Roberto Orci.

In the film, Chris Pine portrays Sam, a fast-talking salesman, who finds his latest deal collapsing on the same day his father dies. When he discovers money has been left to Frankie (Elizabeth Banks, The Hunger Games), a sister he never knew he had, Sam seeks her out to decide whether he will give her the inheritance.

Even though Chris Pine, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci were at the press day for People Like Us, it was impossible to contain myself and I felt compelled to ask about the upcoming, as yet untitled, Star Trek sequel.

I began by asking Roberto Orci if it was hard for him and his partner Alex Kurtzman to write the sequel – click below to listen to his reply.

and on the freedom they have to write anything…

I wondered if Chris Pine felt any pressure returning to Star Trek, as the fans are expecting so much now. Click her to below what he said about that.
