Paramount released today the first trailer for the second JJ Abrams Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness.
Paramount actually called this an Announcement Video! This comes days after the release of the poster featuring a devastated London.
The main impression is that the film will be following the general feel of the second part of the first JJ Abrams film. The unnamed bad guy is played by british actor Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes in the series Sherlock). IMDB has him down as Khan. There is nothing in this first trailer to say one way or other.
One surprise was no sooner was it released that it was spotted that the Japanese trailer had an extra scene at the end which is a homage to a scene in the original second Star Trek film. That film featured the character Khan… Are we being deliberately mis-guided?
See what you make of the trailer yourself and the extra bit in the Japanese one…
