Atlantis – BBC announces cast of Merlin replacement

Atlantis, that mythical city that has been many of the basis of stories and tv series now has another in the form of a BBC series. Today we have more information on the shape it will take with the details of the cast.

Merlin fans may have been wondering what they can look forward to with the ending of the much loved series and now we have some details of the cast of the new show.

Mark Addy of Game of Thrones, The Syndicate and Trollied fame is quoted as saying “I am very excited to be invited along on this epic adventure. The scripts bring to life ancient myths with such a vibrancy and sense of humour; I knew I wanted to be a part of it.”

Sarah Parish, known for her role in Mistresses, said “I am thrilled to be part of Atlantis. It’s a very exciting project and I can’t wait to start filming.”

While Juliet Stevenson who was in the much praised The Hour said “very excited to be working with the team. This genre is new to me, so I am looking forward to a great adventure.”

Atlantis is set in a time of legendry heroes, mythical creatures and gods. It promises to be action packed and bring to life the vast store of Greek myths and legends.

The city is currently under construction at sites in Wales and Morocco with Filming for the 13-part series commencing in April and the programme will air this autumn.

Cast announced for BBC One’s Atlantis

Casting has been announced for BBC One’s highly anticipated new family drama Atlantis.

The line-up includes Mark Addy (The Syndicate, Trollied), Juliet Stevenson (White Heat, The Hour), Sarah Parish (Mistresses, Monroe), Jemima Rooper (Lost In Austen, Hex), Robert Emms (War Horse, Mirror Mirror), Aiysha Hart (Djinn, Honour) and Jack Donnelly (Dancing On The Edge, House Of Anubis).

Atlantis is a brand new, thrilling fantasy drama, set in a time of legendry heroes, mythical creatures and gods. The action packed 13-part series brings to life the vast store of Greek myths and legends re-imagined for a new generation.

The mythical city is currently under construction at sites in Wales and Morocco. Filming will commence in April and the programme will air this autumn.
