We hear that Chloe Moretz will be offered the female lead Teri in The Equalizer movie. She read through the script with the already announced star Denzel Washington and obviously made all the right moves.

The Equalizer tells the story of the mysterious Robert McCall, a former covert intelligence officer, who helps desperate people who are in need of his unique and deadly skills.

The prostitute role that Chloe will play was meant for a twenty something actress. However as the chemisty worked between Denzel and her they revised the role to be a teenage prostitute instead.

Chloë Grace Moretz can be next seen in the lead role in a revised Carrie movie. Carrie is due out in October 2013.

Since our interview with Equalizer creator Michael Sloan in August last year the director has also been confirmed as Antoine Fuqua. Antoine and Denzel have worked together before, on Training Day back in 2001. Chloe would have been just 4 at the time!

Michael has been given the task to write an original adventure for The Equalizer character. This is not a novelization of the movie. This original book is due out early 2014.

Richard Wenk is the scriptwriter for the film. Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch are producers. Exec Producers are Alex Siskin, Mace Neufeld, Michael Sloan, Tony Eldridge and David Bloomfield.

The Equalizer starts shooting on June 17th with the release date set for April 11th, 2014. Sony, obviously, hopes the movie release will be the start of a franchise.
