The John Glen was the last person to direct consecutive Bond movies. This was between 1981 and 1989.

Sam, had previously ruled himself out due to other commitments. Those commitments still included theatre musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which just opened and Shakespeare’s King Lear at UK’s National Theatre in January 2014.

The director will again be working with screenplay writer John Logan and of course the current James Bond Daniel Craig. The three of them are seen as key to the success of the last film Skyfall.
