This video feature takes us behind the scenes to give us a taste of making TNT’s Murder in the First. It includes comments from Tom Felton, know best for the Harry Potter films.
Two murders have a common denominator and lead to Silicon Valley wunderkind Erich Blunt (Tom Felton) [Editor: aka Steve Jobs?]. Tom said of his role “What can be a very nice sweet guy can also be someone very terrifying,”
The series follows two homicide detectives, Terry English (Taye Diggs) and Hildy Mulligan (Kathleen Robertson), as they investigate the murders.
Kathleen tells how the series has some powerful elements, “There is sex, there is power, there is extreme beauty, extreme wide play, extreme poverty”. And co-star Taye Diggs concluded that ‘When you mix those elements you have explosions happening”.
Cast’s other work
Tom Felton is in Ghosts of the Pacific which is a story about a WWII pilot, bombardier and radioman who find themselves adrift on a lifeboat without food or water after being forced to ditch their plane during a scouting mission. Ghosts of the Pacific is due for release this year but so far there is no confirmed date.
Kathleen Robertson is also appearing in a story arc on A&E’s Bates Motel and just finished Lakeshore Entertainment’s feature Vatican Tapes due in theatres later this year.
Taye Diggs latest film was The Best Man Holiday, a follow up to the 1999 film The Best Man, which centered on a writer whose recent autobiography put him at odds with being the best man at his friend’s wedding. He reprised his role as Harper Stewart and was released in theaters November 15 last year.
