Academy Award winning film Frozen, and the biggest animated feature of all time, is to get a spin-off short ahead of the already announced sequel.

The animated short is titled Frozen Fever and in it we have Anna’s birthday with Elsa and Kristoff determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk…

The short is set to feature a new original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who won an Academy Award for Let It Go and are working together again for the first time since collaborating on that is Frozen.

Both Frozen directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck are returning to direct the short.

It’s not yet confirmed how fans will get to see Frozen Fever but it is believed is might be shown ahead of Cinderella which opens March 13, 2015 (in US and Canada).

Two other shorts have been confirmed by Disney. One is titled Feast and concerns a Boston terrier puppy called Winston, who shares meals under the table with his owner. This is being shown with Big Hero 6, which is due later this year, on November 7, 2014 (in US and Canada).

The other is Pixar’s Lava and will feature a Hawaiian volcano singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow and will be screened with Inside Out, which has a release due on June 19, 2015 (in US and Canada).
