At the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter presentation today the President of the CW Network, Mark Pedowitz, was asked that question many of you have been wanted to know the answer to, when will The CW Network be airing Beauty and the Beast Season 3?
TCA Member: Can you handle a Beauty and the Beast question this morning, Mark?
Mark Pedowitz: I’m prepared.
TCA Member: Obviously all the pickups and spring starters, can we expect another summer premiere as far as the new season of Beauty and the Beast?
Mark Pedowitz: We are anticipating… and one of the reasons we picked it up for this year was to begin bringing scripted programming into the summer, so we anticipate a late May/June start for Beauty and the Beast.
We, Film Review Online, had already reported that a January start was not on the cards for Vincent (Jay Ryan) and Catherine (Kristin Kreuk)’s return in Beauty and the Beast Season 3. This is unfortunately what we had predicted and will disappoint many fans that had hoped for a earlier return.
Reading between the lines it could be very promising for a possible fourth season with the CW Network planing ongoing ‘scripted programming’ for the summer schedules! Lets hope the ratings are good enough for that.
Mark went on to say a little more about the CW Network other summer plans..
TCA Member: Can you talk about over summer plans as long as we’re there?
Mark Pedowitz: Not yet because we haven’t formalized them yet. Obviously Whose Line will still be on. Penn & Teller will still be on. Masters of Illusion, and we have a couple other shows that we’re talking about picking up, reality and potentially using CW Seed again to try to incubate a half hour.
