In Thunderbirds Are Go 105, titled “Fireflash“, Kayo is riding aboard Fireflash, a Brains-invented supersonic airliner, unaware its control has been seized by a mystery individual.

As mentioned in the title this episode is one of the remakes of a classic 1965 Thunderbirds series episodes. The original was titled “Trapped in the Sky” and was the first of that series.

The first version that made was a half hour episode but when studio boss Lew Grade saw it, it was decided that the series should be full hour length episodes. There then had to have extra sub plots written and further filming was done.

The brief summary of the 1965 episode reads, “The Fireflash, on its maiden voyage from London to Tokyo, is sabotaged by the Hood and is unable to land“. The many extra events and fuller character development helped the original series gain great success.

This “Fireflash” is the fifth episode of Thunderbirds Are Go (2015) Season 1 and first airs in the UK on Saturday April 25th 2015.
