Avengers: Age of Ultron got a bit more publicity than expected when Robert Downey Jr felt uncomfortable about some personal questions from a UK news reporter & ended up walking out…
If you look at the interview you can see Robert could have simply declined answering but he was obviously feeling a bit ‘touchy’ and seemly encouraged the line of questioning from Channel 4 News presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy. Once the question was asked he abruptly ended the interview.
In the item broadcast just an hour ago Robert Downey Jr talks his first Iron Man and comments how his character has developed in his latest, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
However later in the piece when asked about a comment he had made in an interview with the New York Times some years ago that “you can’t go from a $2,000-a-night suite at La Mirage to a penitentiary and really understand it and come out a liberal,” he starts of with saying “it made sense at the time” but on subsequent questioning he is heard to say “are we promoting a movie?” (4:57) but then goes on to give a perfectly good reply.
However the Channel 4 News presenter then checks with Robert Downey Jr if he is ok to go on with this line of questioning. Robert says one thing but his body language (checking with the pr person) says another. It was all at bit odd but as we all know if you get annoyed inside it can be a bit difficult to control fully your emotions.
Check the video and see what you think. People on twitter seem to side with Robert but having been in this situation myself I can feel for Krishnan Guru-Murthy.
