The film crew of Spectre have been in Rome filming a dramatic car chase between Mr Hinx (Dave Bautista) in his Jaguar and James Bond (Daniel Craig) in his latest Aston Martin.
Check out the behind the scenes video featuring the specially built Aston Martins and Jaguar cars and the night time filming with the streets of Rome specially closed down.
In the video both Neil Layton – Action Vehicles Technical Coordinator – and Chris Corbould – Special Effects Supervisor – explain about the eight Aston Martin DB10 cars. One is the ‘hero’ car for general filming to show it’s beauty and the others are stunt cars with full role cage protection for the stunt drivers.
Director Sam Mendes explains the one on one battle between the two cars which turns into a cat and mouse game through the night time streets of Rome.
Gary Powell Stunt Coordinator explains how the cars fit the drivers. Bond’s car is a classic Aston Martin – smooth and fast car – and the beast of a car – the Jaguar C-X75 – for the beast of a character, Mr Hinx.
Actor Dave Bautista, tougue-in-cheek, explains how the hero – Mr Hinx – chases his evil nemesis James Bond! He tells how he believes this will be an iconic scene of the movie.
