In Thunderbirds Are Go 109 “Slingshot” a malfunction at a mining operation sends an asteroid careening towards the sun endangering a crewman, so Thunderbird 3 attempts a rescue mission.
This sounds like a variation on a classic Thunderbirds (1965) episode where a spaceship called ‘Sun Probe’ ends up going on a collision course with the Sun. Here Thunderbird 3 piloted by Alan, Scott and Tin Tin head toward the sun to rescue the Sun Probe crew, but end up being pulled toward the Sun…
This new episode first airs in the UK on Saturday May 23rd 2015.

This new series is absolutely fantastic………….the music alone is award winning stuff and it’s clear that so much work and creative effort has gone into the production. I’ve worked in film and television all my life (the original series inspired me!) and I really wish I had had the chance to direct a couple of episodes of the new run. Bravo……….F.A.B. ……congratulations….. (.and why has it not been properly punted?)
