Dad’s Army – Classic UK tv comedy cinema remake, Trailer


The first trailer for Dad’s Army has just been released. The movie is based on a classic UK tv comedy much anticipated by the original UK audiences for whom this series they have much warmth and affection.

The original series is still repeated in the UK on BBC television today so the comparisons are going to be hard to resist. The movies great cast and casting which seems to respect the original has given fans hope that this might be half way good.

Dad’s Army – Official Lowdown

It is 1944 and World War II is reaching its climax. The Allies are poised to invade France and finally defeat the German army. But in Walmington-on-Sea morale amongst the Home Guard is low.

Their new mission then – to patrol the Dover army base – is a great chance to revive spirits and reputation, that is until glamorous journalist Rose Winters arrives to write about their exploits, setting the pulses racing and putting the local women on red alert.

MI5 then discover a radio signal sent direct to Berlin from Walmington-on-Sea. There’s a spy on the loose! The outcome of the war is suddenly at stake, and it falls to our unlikely heroes to stand up and be counted.

Cast includes Bill Nighy, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Toby Jones, Tom Courtenay, Michael Gambon, Blake Harrison, Daniel Mays and Bill Paterson.

Directed by Oliver Parker with a script by Hamish McColl based on a 1960’s BBC comedy series. Produced by Damian Jones.
