The Doctor has a new burgundy costume in Doctor Who Series 9!

Peter Capaldi’s jacket has some nice detail on the cuffs with three buttons one of which is bright red. Check out the gallery and let us know what you think.

We think it looks very smart. It is very Jon Pertwee’s Doctor. In fact it is just fine and dandy!

In Season 9 the Doctor and Clara embark on reckless adventures in all of space and time and having the time of their lives. It starts Saturday September 19th 2015 at 9:00pm ET on BBC America.

The time travel series returns with a two-parter, ‘The Magician’s Apprentice‘ and ‘The Witch’s Familiar‘. This has been written by lead writer and showrunner Steven Moffat and directed by Hettie Macdonald. Hettie also directed the famed Doctor Who episode ‘Blink‘.

This is of course Peter’s second season at the helm of the TARDIS. It has the Doctor and Clara Oswald (Jenna Coleman) going on a journey that takes them to…

  • deadly alien planets
  • creepy underwater bases
  • Viking villages
  • a global Zygon uprising

and through hidden alien dens, to the very end of time itself (sounds a bit familiar that – did not Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor do that? Let alone Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.)

We will be seeing monsters old and new and the Doctor will come face to face with Missy (Michelle Gomez), a city of Daleks, deadly mercenaries called the Mire and some terrifying ghosts.

In preparation for the new season, BBC America has started a look back at the series’ modern era with a curated collection of The Doctor’s Finest episodes.

This will run for six weeks and be presented with new material, hosted by YouTube star Hannah Hart and produced by Nerdist.

The Doctor’s Finest special episodes include interviews with the show’s cast and creators, fan insight, and a look at how each episode fits into the canon of the Whovian universe.

There will also get a look into the future with previews from the upcoming new season!
