In Downton Abbey 605 Violet embroils the Minister of Health in the hospital row, but his visit ends in catastrophe.

Rupert Frazer guest stars as Minister of Health Neville Chamberlain. Historically Mr Chamberlain was a Conservative politician (similar to Republican) who served as Chancellor of the Exchequer (1923-1924) and Minister of Health (1923, 1924-1929, 1931). He later succeeded Stanley Baldwin as Prime Minister from May 1937 to May 1940. After him, Winston Churchill became the PM.

The US viewers will have to wait until January, 2016 when PBS will start screening Series 6.

Neville Chamberlain visits Downton for dinner, and is drawn into Violet’s plan to save the hospital, with distressing consequences for everyone.

Andy finds an unexpected confidante while helping Mr Mason move into Yew Tree Farm, Mary is uncertain if she has met her match, Edith meets Bertie Pelham in London, and Spratt comes to Denker’s aid.

Mrs Hughes struggles to keep Carson happy, while Mary thinks secrets are being kept from her.
