Finally we have a release date, and a trailer, for London Spy staring Ben Whishaw! UK air date is November 9th 2015 but US screening has slipped to 2016.

The drama is billed as a “gripping, contemporary, emotional thriller” from the acclaimed author Tom Rob Smith,who also wrote the praised Child 44 movie.

The story involves a innocent, young, romantic who is drawn into a dangerous world of espionage when he falls in love with a man he meets by chance on Lambeth Bridge.

A romance between an MI6 code genius (Ed Holcroft) and a man working dead-end jobs (Ben Whishaw) promises happiness for both.

But tragedy strikes when the spy dies in suspicious circumstances, forcing his lover to pursue the dangerous truth behind his death.

Out of his depth in the world of espionage Danny seeks help from his wise mentor Scottie (Jim Broadbent), embarking on a journey where no one is what they seem.

Confirmed for BBC Two on November 9th 2015 at 9pm to 10pm

Episode 1 of 5 will premiere in the UK on Monday November 9th 2015 from 9.00-10.00pm on BBC Two.

BBC America had been saying 2015 but today that changed to 2016. No more detail than that I am sorry to say. 🙂
