The magical acting team, including Johnny Depp, are back for Alice Through the Looking Glass, the sequel to 2010’s Alice in Wonderland.
The story has Alice (Mia Wasikowska) returning to the whimsical world of Underland and travels back in time to save the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp).
So Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Mia Wasikowska and Helena Bonham Carter are returning to their roles but the one person missing is Tim Burton in his director’s role. He and Helena separated amicably in 2014 and he is one of the producers. Tim is replaced as director by James Bobin, whose recent work in film is The Muppets and Muppets Most Wanted. For those fearing some of the wild imagination of Tim may be missing check out the teaser trailer just released and I think you’ll be reassured.
We have the voices of Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen and Timothy Spall returning. Several new characters are in this story including Zanik Hightopp (Rhys Ifans), the Mad Hatter’s father and Time himself (Sacha Baron Cohen) who is described as ‘peculiar creature who is part human, part clock’!
