Since our last article on the Star Trek: Discovery we have had six new casting. These include the First Officer of the Starship and an actor changing roles.
Sonequa Martin Green had long rumored to be in the series. However her casting was not confirmed until last month, after her character in The Walking Dead was killed off. She will play First Officer Michael Burnham.
This week we had another five actor’s roles in the series announced. Shazad Latif was initially cast as Klingon Kol but will star as Lieutenant Tyler, a Starfleet officer in the Federation. Shazad is known for his role as Dr Henry Jekyll in the television series Penny Dreadful.
Kenneth Mitchell will take up Shazad’s previous role as Kol, a commanding officer in the Klingon Empire. Kenneth’s television credits include the fan-favorite Jericho on CBS, The Astronaut Wives Club and Frequency.
There were also two other Klingon roles announced.
Clare McConnell will star as Dennas, a leader in the Klingon Empire. Clare’s film credits include the upcoming Dim the Fluorescents. That is due for release this fall.
Damon Runyan will star as Ujilli, also a leader in the Klingon Empire. Damon’s television credits include Suits, Supernatural and Gangland Undercover.
Finally we have one other for Starfleet. Rekha Sharma will star as Commander Landry. She is the security officer of Starship Discovery. Rekha’s television credits include Battlestar Galactica and The 100.
