Sir Roger Moore, perhaps best know for James Bond in the 007 films has died today of cancer aged 89.

He is the longest serving actor in the 007 role and known for his light hearted touch with his raised eyebrow gesture!

His charm also was evident in the earlier television series The Saint. He played the title role, Simon Templar, from 1962 to 1969. This was followed by another television series The Persuaders! in 1971. Here he played Lord Brett Sinclair opposite Tony Curtis.

Roger was also known for his humanitarian work with Unicef.
