Season Two of Star Trek: Discovery to Launch Thursday, January 17th, 2019 on CBS All Access.

Star Trek: Discovery Season Two new trailer was revealed to fans today at New York Comic-Con. It included a first look at Spock, Number One, and Section 31’s Newest Recruit!

Launch Date

At New York Comic-Con today was Star Trek: Discovery executive producer Alex Kurtzman. He revealed that the second season of the series will launch Thursday, January 17th, 2019. All of the episodes this time are exclusively on CBS All Access in the United States. Following premiere night, all new episodes of Star Trek: Discovery’s 13-episode second season will be available on-demand weekly on Thursdays. Netflix has it for most of the rest of the world. Canada has it own channel for the show.

Season Two New York Comic-Con Trailer

First look at Spock, Number One, & Section 31 Recruit!

The official season two trailer debuted during the New York Comic-Con panel with cast and executive producers at Madison Square Garden. In that fans were given a first look at Star Trek: Discovery’s Spock, played by Ethan Peck.

You can also see Number One, played by Rebecca Romijn. Number One was played by Majel Barrett in the pilot for the original series. This one however may not be intended to be the same character. Number One is more of a rank. Time will tell. The original series dropped the role in the series itself.

Finally there was Section 31’s newest recruit, Philippa Georgiou, played by Michelle Yeoh. She was dead in the first few episodes of season one and an ruthless alternative universe version found later!

Season two guest star Rebecca Romijn (Number One) moderated the Star Trek: Discovery panel. It featured a conversation with cast members. They included:-

  • Anson Mount (Captain Christopher Pike)
  • Ethan Peck (Spock)

Executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Heather Kadin were also in the panel discussion.
