We have pictures of The Downton Abbey Movie dog! It’s the Downton Abbey Movie PR people’s way of joining in today’s international Dog Day!

The Crawleys have had dog’s before. This one is called Teo. The previous two dogs in the show were Pharaoh and, perhaps slightly unfortunately, Isis. And the connection? They are all named from Egyptian culture. Thanks to Kirstin of Focus Features for that additional information.

National Dog Day Foundation

So what is National Dog Day all about? It is apparently observed annually on August 26th. This day is to encourage dog ownership of all breeds. Whether mixed or purebred. They idea is to embrace the opportunity for all dogs to live a happy, safe and abuse-free life. We understand that The National Dog Day Foundation manages to rescue 10,000 dogs each year.
