Here is an insight into All Creatures Great and Small 106. It will air on Channel 5, Tuesday October 6th, 2020. However, for those in the USA they have to wait a bit. They will be able to see this from January 2021 on PBS in it’s Masterpiece slot. This is the final episode of the season. No word yet on any possible second season. Maybe we have to wait for the reaction to the airing in the USA?

Episode Six– ‘A Cure For All Ills’
The Dales are in the grip of a bitter winter. Siegfried has flu and James’s workload has doubled.
Pedigree cow, Strawberry
Dick Rudd calls him out to examine his pedigree cow, Strawberry, who is struggling for breath. James is alarmed to discover she has an abscess in her throat and fears that if it continues to grow she will choke to death.
Dick is devastated. He invested his family’s life savings in the cow, at James’s recommendation, in the hope she would be the genesis of a new herd. James’s attempts to treat the cow fail and it begins to look hopeless.
Tristan pours over his text books to try and help his friend find a way to save the cow. He wonders if they should operate but Siegfried thinks the idea preposterous and orders James to tell Dick Rudd to take Strawberry to the knacker’s yard.
But James can’t let it go. When Helen gives James the confidence to follow his instincts, he and Tristan ignore Siegfried’s instructions and decide to carry out an extremely high-risk procedure on the cow.
Mrs Hall’s surprise
Back at Skeldale, Mrs Hall discovers it’s James’s birthday and Tristan sets about planning a surprise party.
James is still pining after Helen but Tristan tells him it’s time to look to pastures new and persuades him to go on a double date. James tries his best to have a good time at the party, but he’s distracted by Strawberry’s condition.
A surprise announcement in the Drovers brings James’s birthday to a difficult close.
