It’s a Sin is a new five-part min-series from Queer as Folk creator Russell T Davies. Russell is also know for his revival of Doctor Who in 2005. This new series will air on Channel 4 in the UK later this January. In the US HBO Max will stream it.

The central character is Ritchie Tozer played by Olly Alexander. He was also in Russell’s Years & Years. Olly’s character here is of a gay teenager who moves to London in 1981. The particular point here is this was the early days of the Aids crisis.

It’s a Sin follows the lives of Ritchie’s friends as they ‘navigate life, love and loss over the course of the Eighties as the horrors of the crisis begin to unfold’.

Only now in this mini-series Russel T Davies feels he is able to tell a story that has haunted him for decades…

In the trailer you will see notable stars Stephen Fry and Neil Patrick Harris. The show will premiere on Channel 4, January 22nd, 2021.
