This new series is absolutely fantastic………….the music alone is award winning stuff and it’s clear that so much work and creative effort has gone into the production. I’ve worked in film and television all my life (the original series inspired me!) and I really wish I had had the chance to direct a couple of episodes of the new run. Thanks Phil. You’re quite right ‘Fireflash’ was what we meant. We seems have had Joss Whedon’s short lived 2002 series ‘Firefly’ in mind when writing this! Strange considering we had the word correct in the photo captions. Article text now corrected.

There was no episode called ‘Firefly’. The episode with the plane was called ‘Trapped in the Sky’ and the plane was called the ‘Fireflash’. There was an episode that featured a fire which had a vehicle called the ‘Firefly’.

Jamie does NOT flog Claire, he spanks her. Jamie himself was flogged by Black Jack Randall. The degree of difference is like the difference between an isolated thunderstorm (spanking) and a hurricane. The spanking didn’t mark Claire (i.e., leave scars). Black Jack Randall’s flogging of Jamie with a cat-o’-nine-tails left Jamie’s back scarred for life.

Interesting thought. Although only one of the characters is being voiced by the original actor. So we feel this is unlikely to be the reason.

Parker is to be voiced by David Graham as he did in the 1960’s. Kayvan Novak will be taking over voicing Brains, which David also previously did.

Christine retired from acting many years ago and as you say is no longer with us, having died in Dec 2007.

I think B&theB would become much more popular if Cat would stop rationalizing everything all the time! I mean she contradicts herself all the time in a span of 10 minutes. It just got worse in season 2. People, especially ones who have a high risk career like being a detective, are not that wishy washy. At times it gets so bad its irritating. Giving cat a little more backbone would greatly improve the male fan base!

all I know is I hope another network can take over BATB. I think BATB is being short changed and deserve better than what CW does for them. CW needs to take a look at the universal fan base and how they have been loyal and patient in the long hiatus without any promotion . Even after being off air since July 1 2014 they are still on top when it comes to popularity . Maybe they should take a look at their own promoters , possibly they need to be changed. I still think they will be back end of March beginning of April and if they move them back to summer they need their heads examined.

I don’t think you can draw this conclusion based on the January schedule only. there are three midseason shows (batb, izombie and the messengers). are all these due to return in summer then? the cw will have 3 free slots after the 100 and dixie and masters of illusion finish in March/early April so unless they decide to air new episodes of whose line is it anyway before summer, there is a free slot for batb too. may be worth revising your article if purely based on the january schedule posted above?

I agree with your review.. But don’t compare this movie with 50/50.. Please.. First of all 50/50 was funny and it was also a serious movie in the parts it needed to be. It had a good balance and was well acted.. This movie is okay but really doesnt compare. You can have your opinion i guess but don’t be one of these critics who cant seem to cut movies some slack, like nothings good enough.. But overall i do agree with what you said about this movie. Once it took a right turn and he lied about cancer we all knew where the movie was going from there, “The next hour obviously will be devoted to Norman’s efforts to maintain
the fiction that he has three months to live, leading to an inevitable
and awkward moment of truth.” They really could have done a lot better. I mean how long can we watch a movie and pretend that we don’t know exactly where its going. If we do we hope that its at least entertaining.. This one at least was at points.. It was well acted and did the best it probably could do with that premise. Thanks for the review..

Having re-checked Peter Capaldi is officially the ‘Twelfth Doctor’. ‘Real’ fans, as our writer Colin put it, will know he is the thirteenth… and also, for you information, that he is on the next cycle of regenerations.

Love all your points in your last two paragraphs but we were not even getting that in depth, or even thinking of, say, the Donna Doctor!

As you say just watching the last two Matt Smith stories gives you all you need. However, as you are counting John Hurt’s incarnation, looks like even you have got a little muddled!

We guess that Peter Capaldi is officially the ‘Twelfth Doctor’ mainly for the marketing…

Maybe I’m not enough of a real fan, but… why is Capaldi the 13th Doctor?

The same speech that makes it clear that the War Doctor counts as 9 also makes it clear that Tennant counts as both 11 and 12. And 11 makes it very clear that the 13th Doctor is the one who can’t regenerate, and that’s him—and, when that changes, that he’s about to regenerate into 14, the first of a new cycle of regenerations. Plus, you wouldn’t really need to be a “real fan” to have seen either the feature-film episode or the Christmas special.

So, you’re obviously going for something more obscure… but what?

The Valeyard is after the 12th incarnation. Merlin could be any incarnation, no reason he has to be pre-Capaldi. Rowan Atkinson would mean you need the other 4 Curse of Fatal Death Doctors. You can’t be thinking of Richard E. Grant from Scream of the Shalka but not thinking of Curse. Even if you’re going to the novels to prove your real-fan-ness, the Other (Lungbarrow) and Soul (Sometime Never) have pretty much equal claims.

Maybe you’re thinking of actors, not incarnations, and counting either Peter Cushing or Richard Hurndall but not the other, and also not William Russell, Frazer Hines, Tim Treloar, or Jon Culshaw from the audios… but if so, why one and not the others? Or maybe you’re counting Billie Piper because of Rose’s body-swap with the Doctor, but she’s not the only actor to have played the Doctor in another body (going back to at least Katy Manning).

So… I’m stumped.

Best decision MP ever made ~ to save BatB ~ definitely a fan favorite. We fought so very hard to save our show and we are so grateful. We want MANY more seasons of BatB please. If CW would only promote BatB so that more Americans will know about it I believe the ratings will increase exponentially.

Thanks 🙂 We are really curious. It would be an unforseen twist.
Gabe is the obvious one. Maybe too obvious. Which could point at someone else. Or maybe the police at the 95:th have actually done some real work, and connected Vincent to the crime. Windsors murder wasn’t covered up like the other beastkillings.
One more thing pointing at Gabe, we have been told that Heather will run into trouble later because of Gabes retaliation on Vincent…
